First overseas visitor

We received our first overseas visitor this Friday. Carla's cousin Lucas came to Australia on a Work/Travel visa and will be travelling around for the next few months.

First few things to do with a long term visitor to Australia are:

-get them an Australian SIM card for their cell phone

-open a bank account for them

-get an Australian tax file number (if you plan on doing any paid work in Australia)

First couple of days of any visit should consist of:

-visiting one of the famous beaches (Bondi, Manly)

-visit downtown Sydney and get a nice look at the Sydney Opera House

-check out the shopping in Chatswood (two shopping malls)

The rest we will figure out as we go. There is quite a lot of good walking that can be done around Sydney, with beautiful views of nature, so we plan to do a few of those as well.
